They are not available to civilians. The MSR is military only. If you want something similar I suggest going with an Accuracy International. Amazing quality and great price.

Starting in the center: just getting used to the guns.(first ~100 rounds of each)

top left: 3 shots from the p226 at 40 yards

bottom left: 2 mags loaded to 6 on the mosquito rapid fire at 50 yards.

bottom center: 4 rounds from p226 at 50 yards

bottom right: 30 rounds from p226 at 50 yards. (all but one hit the target)

Random strays = draw and fire 2 (there are 3 .22’s in the 6, one in the 5, and two above the ring) 4 9mm in total (two in the 6 ring, one on the 6/7 line, and one all the way off at 9 o’clock

This was the only target I had on me today so that’s why there’s so much clutter on it. All I brought was the money for the range time not targets. I apparently left my targets on my bed while loading my range bag… oops.

Overall really happy with the mosquito. A lot of people say they have problems with them but I had no problems feeding it Remington golden bullets from the “Bucket-o-bullets”

All grips for other k-frames should work on it. Don’t think there were any major changes on k-frame guns so you should be fine with whatever you get. Only thing you might need to worry about is that on the 12-1 it is about 2mm thinner than the standard k-frame so bolt on grips should work but wrap around ones might be an issue.

See the second bullet to the right, OP? That’s what the AR-15 most commonly fires. The bullet’s diameter is less than a quarter of an inch. It is illegal to hunt with 5.56x45MM/.223 in some states because it is too small.

You see the second and third from the left? Those are rounds that are most commonly fired from bolt-action hunting rifles. They’re both at least a tenth of an inch larger than the 5.56x45MM/.223, and have considerably more powder behind them. The .300 Win-Mag shown here is commonly used for taking down elk, deer, and moose on a regular basis.

Your lack of knowledge on firearms makes you look stupid. Please educate yourself before talking further.

In addition to my other post, please explain to me why a civilian should not be able to own an AR-15? Contrary to popular belief, the AR-15 was originally designed as a lightweight civilian survival rifle, seeing it’s first military sales to Malaysia during the very late 1950s. The United States did not commonly accept the fully-automatic modification of the AR-15, which is now known as the M16/M16A1, until the mid 1960s.

So please, enlighten my as to why a civilian should not be able to own a civilian rifle.

Home defense(never needed it yet but in 5.56)
In the event the government becomes tyrannical and the people need to remove them from office and they refuse. (We have the right to do this. Go read the constitution.)

That is 12 of them off the top of my head. So please tell me where any of this means I shouldn’t own it? At this point I don’t even know how many AR’s I have built, worked on, or bought/sold. I know the gun like the back of my hand and I have assembled one from all parts in under an hour. I am a firearms enthusiast and I enjoy shooting as a sport. I have gone through rigorous background checks for my pistol permits. Civilian and Military “AR’s” are not the same either Military versions generally have barrels that would be shorter than what civilians would be allowed to have without having an NFA tax stamp.

Violence is driven by socioeconomic and cultural factors, not the mere presence of firearms. The statistics clearly show this, and the very same statistics manipulated by so-called “gun control advocates” irrefutably contradicts their agenda’s premise when put into proper context. Worse yet, the obsession over gun control sidelines the urgency needed to address issues like poor education and dismal economic prospects for those living in the most destitute and violence-stricken neighborhoods in our country.

UK vs. Japan: 2 Unarmed Societies, 2 Vastly Different Homicide Rates.

Despite both nations being disarmed and having almost no “gun-related homicides,” according to UN statistics*, Japan and the UK still have an astronomical gap in homicide rates. Why? A visit to either country reveals an entirely different culture, education system, infrastructure, and socioeconomic paradigm. This is why despite Japan having a much larger population, even total homicides are lower than the comparatively more violent but less populated United Kingdom – with homicide rates in the UK nearly 3 times higher than those in Japan.

According to the UN’s study, which includes the most recent annual data available, Japan, with a population of roughly 130 million, had a mere 506 homicides over the stretch of a single year. Conversely, the UK, with less than half of Japan’s population (53 million) had 722 homicides. The rates per 100,000 people for Japan and the UK are 0.4 and 1.2 respectively. The UK, despite being an unarmed population, and having virtually no gun violence, still has 3 times the murder rate than the nation of Japan. Those that are murdered in the UK or Japan, are just as dead as any human being murdered by a gun in the United States. And clearly, this indicates that the presence of guns, or their banning, is not a significant factor driving homicides and violence.

Gun Control Doesn’t Work – Ask Mexico.

Despite the hundreds of millions of guns to be found across the United States, with tens of millions of American citizens armed – some very heavily, the homicide rate of America is still below the global average of about 7 homicides per 100,000 people. The US’ homicide rate? 4.8 murders per 100,000.

A nation like Mexico – which is conveniently dismissed by gun control advocates, has – according to the UN – a homicide rate of 22.7 murders per 100,000 people, despite having vastly stricter gun control laws on the books. A visit to Mexico and the United States would, like visiting Japan and the UK, reveal a starkly different culture, education system, infrastructure, and socioeconomic landscape. Socioeconomic factors drive Mexico’s rampant violence – not a lack of gun control laws.

Logical Fallacy of Focusing on “Gun-Related Homicides”

It is true that “gun-related homicides” are higher in the US than other nations in a carefully selected “industrialized nations” category – however it can also be said there are more snowmobile deaths in Michigan than all of America’s southern states combined.

However, in comparing Michigan and America’s sub-tropical region, the problem isn’t snowmobiles, the problem is reckless behavior. Comparing only “gun-related homicides” in the United States with other nations is similarly dishonest, intellectual bankrupt, and statistically invalid. The problem is homicide and violence in general – not merely the means with which a murder is committed. A human being stabbed to death with a knife or throttled to death with one’s bare hands, is just as dead as a human being shot with a pistol, shotgun, or “assault rifle.”

A serious dialogue in tackling violence cannot begin until “violence” in and of itself is recognized as the problem – and not merely a myopic fixation on one of many implements that can be used to commit acts of violence. Indeed, guns do enable people to proficiently kill large numbers of people – but then again, so we are told by the US government, a handful of men with box cutters managed to kill 3,000 innocent people on the morning of September 11, 2001 – with not a single shot fired.

The human capacity to commit violence is not incumbered by a lack of means to do so. Banning certain implements will not deter an individual, or group of individuals from harming others if that is their intent. As the UK’s disarmed but still violent society illustrates, merely banning guns is not the solution. The differences between Japan and the UK are not legal – but socioeconomic and cultural. In the UK, violence in general is the problem. A focus on the implements rather than the factors that drive it, is like treating a cancer by nursing the symptoms. It is a logical fallacy – and ultimately a fatal one.

Obsession with “Assault Rifles”

According to the FBI’s 2011 analysis of homicide in the United States, out of 8,500 gun-related homicides, only 323 (3%) were committed using rifles of any kind – including “assault rifles.” Compared to knives and other cutting instruments (1,694), blunt objects (496), and bare hands/feet (728), rifles should be the least of the honest “gun control” advocate’s concerns.

It’s not if they’re used or not, it’s if they’re necessary or not. There is a point of overkill when it comes to hunting; like using weapons that were literally designed to murder as many people as possible in an efficient manner.

Also, I don’t understand why you guys can’t just give up assault rifles for the hope that it could help reduce the probability of another mass shooting in an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. Is shooting a deer with your overpriced death machine really that important to you? To the point where putting it away would ruin your privileged life too much to justify the possible safety of some small, innocent, child?

Because that’s dumb as fuck.

If I want to buy a Mustang that can go well over the speed limit, is it necessary? No. Is it illegal? No.

These aren’t “assault rifles” they are sporting rifles. They aren’t “designed to murder as many people as possible” they were designed to imitate rifles that soldiers and private security contractors used on a daily basis.

What we’re up in arms about isn’t exclusive to sporting rifles either. The bill that was proposed by Feinstein would ban any firearm that can accept a magazine over 10 rounds. This would include pistols such as the Springfield XD 9mm. A pistol that is used here in Florida by private security officers on a daily basis.

I fail to see how banning firearms that can hold over 10 rounds is a bad thing. And if your SECURITY OFFICERS have to use a firearm that needs over 10 rounds on a daily basis, there has never been a bigger need for reform. You know…aside from the slaughter of elementary school students.

30 rounds do pretty well when you are using them for competition use, or if you want to target shoot. You know what? I’m going to make a video in the next few days just to show how quickly you can just change a magazine out. It doesn’t make much of a difference at all if it’s just a 10 round or if it’s a 30 round. What is actually surprising is how few people know that the higher the capacity the more likely it is to jam. Drum magazines jam quite often, I’ve had 30 round magazines jam too since they weren’t upgraded to anti-tilt followers. I’ve fired a minimum of 15000 rounds through my AR’s and I’ve assembled close to 30 of them. I would feel safer knowing people had 30 round mags rather than 10 because not everyone uses anti tilt followers and they have a higher chance of jamming. I had a preban drum that I had nothing but trouble with. Constantly would jam. Ended up selling it because I’d rather have something that wouldn’t jam.

Oh also. Banning a gun that CAN hold more that 10 rds…. That is ALL guns. If you have the right tools you can make a magazine extension for just about any gun… I have built lower receivers. Only thing preventing me from building a high capacity magazine is the fact it isn’t legal.

Meet The Bundeswehr’s New Designated Marksman Rifle

The German Army finally got themselves a new Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR), and naturally, a german company makes it for them. A few hundred H&K G28 DMRs were ordered and sporting a chromed-lined 16.5” RECCE barrel which many say as the new standard for DMRs. While it is a direct descendant of the HK416/417 rifles, its design was originally intended for the civilian market, rather than for military and law enforcement. You might wonder why a civilian version got adopted by the German Army.

Heckler & Kock initially offered the HK417 as the DMR for the Bundeswehr, but it was rejected as they did not find it to be accurate enough for their needs. What the Bundeswehr then did was ask for the H&K MR308 which is a semi-firing 7.62 rifle that was designed as a civilian match rifle. The H&K M308 is known as the H&K MR762A1 for the US civilian market and with optics such as the Schmidt & Bender 3-20x50.

Weighing 7.9 kilograms on an empty magazine, which means it is a heavy rifle (heavier then the MK14 EBR which weighs 5.1kg), the G28 has a length of 980mm and is said to have the option of being converted into a lighter weapon which will be the Patrol Configuration that shaves 1.6kg off its original weight and closer to the original H&K MR308 design. The Standard Configuration seems to have an telescopic stock with an adjustable cheek pad while the Patrol Configuration doesn’t have the cheek pad. With a repeatable accuracy of 1.5 MOA, it can give precise shooting against man-size targets up to 800 meters. This is not compatible with the upper and lower receivers of the HK417 but for the rest of its parts, they are interchangeable with the HK417, even with the 7.62x51mm NATO standard. The accessories for this apart from the Schmidt & Bender PMIII 3-20x50 scope are the following:

I keep seeing this pop up. Steel cased ammo CANNOT HURT YOUR GUN. It is a softer steel than whatever is used in your gun unless you rigged something together from pot metal. Every gunblr should reblog this so people will stop asking for god’s sake.

I use steel cased 9MM all the time an my guns don’t give a fuck.
